| Description: This facility is used to treat wastewater from the naval base. The flows from this base can vary greatly. They can range anywhere from a flow rate of 10,000 gpd to 50,000 gpd, therefore, a flow equalization system was designed to handle peak hour flow rates and was combined with two independent 25,000 gpd extended aeration systems. During low or peak flow periods, either or both of the secondary systems can be used. In addition, the flow equalization control can be adjusted to handle average hourly flow rates. To meet the effluent limitation requirements, a tertiary filter system with dual-filter cells was also designed into the system. As you can see in the photograph above, each of these systems are individual and stands alone. |
